    My Animal Friends

    Thursday, July 17, 2008, 12:17 AM [General]

I have many animal friends, and they all give to me different things. I have the herd of sheep, who are my babies (all 165 of them). I have 5 dogs, a Pomeranian, a black Chow, a houndog-lab mix, a border collie, and a jack russel terrorist. There are 3 house cats that are my daughters (none once they are out of here!), too many barncats to count.. Barncats are a constantly changing community here, people drop off, or they wander here, stay a bit then leave. 7 horses, 2 ponies and a mule. The flock of pigeons (doves if you will) that someone has turned loose so they just came here to live. The 2 peacocks who 1 ran away from home and came here to live, 1 was an abuse rescue case (one died last winter from age and old abuse related disease). We also have 3 ball pythons, one jungle-carpet x diamond python, one boa constrictor, one cornsnake, 3 white lined tree gekkoes, 1 Savannah Monitor, 1 black and white Colombian Tegu, 1 reconstructed green iguana. For the summer we have added the colleges Schneiders Skink, and Savannah Monitor. I am also working with a little kitten whose mother abandoned all 3 as they were born. Only one lived. One lived 1 day, one lived 2 days. This one is 3 weeks old now, but still at high risk. She's a fighter though. We also gained another barnkitten through one someone found in a busy parking lot and brought to me. It's an interesting and busy place. Wildlife wise, we have the deer, the fox, the coyotes, the turkeys, the "wild" sandhill cranes who come up and ask us for corn, the raccoons, skunks, oppossum. Most of the domesticated animals come from abused backgrounds and need special treatment and special help. They all seem to be thriving though. They teach unconditional love and care. In rare moments they give you back some love that shines through everything, so beautiful! It is wonderful to see them get to trust people again and find that not all are abusive.

Hi! I am new to all this blog stuff. Don't really know what to write. I am eclectic. I take what feels right for me and use it. Energy is good stuff and highly useful. I do a lot of energy work. I don't do "organized" anything too well.
